Here is a selection of some of our most recent commercial projects.
The Lalit Hotel, Tower Bridge, London
This 180-year-old beautiful London building, once housing the erstwhile St. Olave’s Grammar School has been recently re-modelled and unveiled as The Lalit London. Whilst converting this luxury boutique hotel, some of the ornate original roof timber trusses, one of the key features of the great dining hall, were found to be affected by timber decay to the bearing ends causing concern over structural stability.
In conjunction with the project engineers and a dedicated timber expert, Advanced Preservations designed a remedial scheme to produce a concealed, invisible repair to the structural hammer-beam, whilst maximising the retention of original listed timber sections.
Specially formulated Rotafix resin timber repair systems were implemented to return and improve the structural performance of the original beams, whilst remaining sympathetic and in sync with the needs of the construction team, the tight working environment and the desired finished product.
